It seems that the word "transitions" is appropriate at this point in the journal's history. CSAJ is currently searching for a new editor and three associate editors. The selection of the individuals to fill these positions will greatly impact the focus and direction of CSAJ for the next several years. It is also the beginning of a transition for myself, as I near the end of my term as editor. It has been a great professional challenge that I have enjoyed and occasionally a stressful commitment.

The most exciting transition, however, is the recent action on the part of the Executive Council of SACSA to formally designate CSAJ as a national journal. The journal's readership is indeed national, even international, and has been for quite some time. The editorial board has been populated by a diverse set of professionals with excellent expertise. The quality of articles has increased each year. So the Executive Council's designation of CSAJ as a national journal is appropriate and well deserved. …
