Article excerpt

AgrowKnowfedge, the National Center for Agriscience, and Technology announces its 2008 National Conference - "Case Study: Agriculture - Merging Math, Science and Technology."

AgrowKnowledge is stepping up the teaching abilities of agriculture, food, and natural resources educators by offering training on how to write and apply case-study and problem-based learning methodology to their respective disciplines. Case studies and project-based learning cause students to engage in problems and situations that parallel the world of work, to develop an understanding of key content and to engage in critical thinking.

For this event AgrowKnowledge is pleased to have two outstanding educators experienced in applying these methodologies as academicians in agriculture to lead our pre-conference workshop sessions on May 28 and provide plenary session at the conference:

Dr. Frank Robinson, Associate Dean and Professor, Poultry Management/Physiology, University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada.

Dr. Cheryl Wachenheim, Associate Professor in the Department of Agribusiness and Applied Economics at North Dakota State University, Fargo, ND

Besides the pre-conference workshop and the plenary session the conference also includes concurrent applied sessions and demonstrations in the disciplines of:

* Agricultural Biotechnology

* Alternative Energy for Agriculture

* Agriculture Geospatial Technology

* Agriculture Environments, National Resources & Security
