On December 19,2007, Julie L. Myers, Assistant secretary of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), was unanimously confirmed by voice vote in the US Senate as permanent head of ICE.

Stuart J. Ishimaru was confirmed by the US Senate on December 19,2007 to serve as a Member of the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) for a term that expires on July 1, 2012. Commissioners are appointed for fiveyear, staggered terms with the President designating a Chair as the chief executive officer of the Commission, as well as a Vice Chair.

Kenneth L. Marcus, the director of the US Commission on Civil Rights (USCCR) is resigning effective January 19, 2008 to assume a position outside of government, according to a January 7, 2007 agency statement. Marcus has served as the USCCR's staff director for more than three years.

The U.S. Department of Labor announced that Alexander J. Passantino will serve as the acting administrator of the department's Wage and Hour Division. Passantino was named deputy administrator for the division in October 2006. He first joined the U.S. Department of Labor in November 2005 as a senior policy advisor to the assistant secretary for the Employment Standards Administration.

On Jan. 16,2008, Frank Tortorici was named Director, Communications, of The Conference Board, the global business research and membership organization. …
