though I have closed myself as fingers,

you open always petal by petal myself as Spring opens

Together in a restaurant, at a party,

somewhere I have never traveled gladly-

or in the evening, listening to disasters

on national newscasts hourly and/or reading

scaremongering headlines in the evening paper,

arguing over politics and/or poetry

whatever we are doing, doing daily

moderately attentive, inattentive-

if I should glance your way, observing closely,

your slightest look easily will unclose me.

No matter if I sleep, my dream will see you

looking my way, the curious gaze you give me

bringing you to me bringing us both together

as if I were between you, you between me

in a sweet lovers bow knot, and/or double,

our twoness only one, our twice-times single

as two halves of a peach, and/or an apple.

I swear that-this my love song, I the singer-

though I have dosed myself as fingers

are folded in a sleeping fist, and lazy-

my song continues in unspoken ways,

in images and/or surrealist music

in landscape, seascape, skyscape and/or air

until you break it with your laser eye's

accurate and/or unerring focus. …
