J.A. Stargardt of Marburg, Germany, held an auction on November 26, 1985, with several Beethoven items. The most interesting is a sketch leaf from the winter of 1811/12 for the song, "An die Geliebte," WoO 140. The leaf is in oblong format (24 x 30.5 cm) and contains sixteen staves per side.

The sketches for Wo0 140 are solely on the verso (?) side; according to the catalog, "The voice part is notated on the first five staves with the text of the second version, and repeated on another six staves without text in a slightly different form. Both sketches stand inbetween the two versions known to us in the shape of the melody. In the middle of the page are two short sketches for the piano accompaniment that belong to the first version." On the recto (?) of the leaf are sketches notated in ink and pencil for as yet unidentified works. The catalog describes the leaf as a "schwungvolles Skizzenblatt, mit vielen Korrekturen" (a sketchpage full of energy, with many corrections) and adds that it appears to be unknown in scholarly literature. A reproduction of the side of the leaf containing sketces for Wo0 140 is given in the catalog.
