What was your first job ever?

My first "job" was volunteering at my elementary school library. I also started babysitting as soon as I turned 13.

Describe your first job in libraries.

First library job? I worked as a volunteer in my elementary school library, and then got paid minimum wage for working in my high school library. I also did coops in high school at a book store and at the local public library. In college, I did work placements at Toronto French School, Toronto Public Library, and Brantford General Hospital Library. This job with the school board is my first "real" library job. I've had this job since 2001.

If you weren't a librarian/library worker, what would you be? Why?

I ask myself that all the time. I would love to own a bookstore?maybe when I retire. I also worked in a pharmacy during college; that was pretty cool. Maybe pharmacy technician.

Who has been a big inspiration/influence on your library career?

My elementary school teacher-librarian was amazing. Her name was Mrs. Galloway (from Centennial and Fairview School in Brantford).

Name one person you admire (outside of libraries) and explain why.

Any celebrity who contributes time and money to charities/causes. …
