Computer Music Journal Vol. 32, No. 2 (Summer 2008): special issue on digital audio effects. The Tenth International Conference on Digital Audio Effects (2007) inspired this issue which features five articles based on papers given. Composerimproviser George Lewis guest edited this issue focusing on technology in African-American music. Articles feature telepresence (construction of sonic space) and biopolitics in rap, mapping of artist Kara Lynch's work, Anthony Braxton's speculative music, and the symbolism of music and instruments in Henry Dumas and Samuel R. Delany's science fiction.
