Twenty one librarians, archivists and information specialists attended, coming from France, Germany, the Netherlands, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK.

As has become ELIAS tradition, the first presentation was given by an academic and this year Professor Christopher Cramer, Chair of the London Centre of African Studies, gave us his entertaining but thought-provoking reflections on his experience of libraries. Thanks are due to Hartmut Bergenthum, Jos Damen and other members of the ELIAS steering committee for organising such a full and stimulating day.

The 2010 meeting will be hosted by SCOLMA in London at the British Library Conference Centre, 7-8 June. …
