This issue of The Byron Journal, like the last, pays tribute to Elma Dangerfield, CBE, co-re-founder of the Byron Society and co-founder of this journal. A section of the following pages is devoted to accounts of her funeral, cremation and commemoration service and of the celebration of her life that took place in London in September. This issue also prints a number of letters to the Academic Editor paying tribute to Elma.

As well as this, there are, of course, the usual essays and book reviews, along with reports of the 2006 one-day Byron conference at Nottingham Trent University and the 2006 International Byron Conference in Paris. There are also reports on the year's activities from Byron Societies around the world and the ever-changing, and currently expanding, list of worldwide Byron Society contacts. We are currently putting a lot of effort into updating the details of this list - please get in touch if you see any mistakes or outdated information.
