Article excerpt

As you can see, Restoration and Eighteenth-Century Theatre Research has a new size and an overall new look. We hope this makes the journal both more attractive to read and easier to shelve and access as the new "perfect-bound spine" displays the journal title, volume, and number. Although a little smaller in size than the previous format, the RECTR page is still large enough to allow for decently-sized illustrations, a very basic part of much theatre research, and we continue to encourage contributors to supply apt illustrations with their essays.

In addition to changing the journal's look, we are also in the process of digitizing past issues of RECTR going back to the mid- 1 960s - which will make it much easier than before to supply readers or institutions with past issues and individual articles. A comprehensive index of all the articles and reviews from 1986 to the present can be found at http:// www.du.edu/centersinstitutes/rectr/Comprehensive_Index.htm. This index will be taken back to the mid-1960s in the course of the year. In order to aid in the process of accessing published essays, we will also provide brief abstracts for all articles, and we now ask that, in the future, all essay submissions be accompanied by 1 50-word (maximum) abstracts for this purpose (see our masthead page for general submission guidelines and our website for futher details). …
