Joy Don Baker, PhD, RN-BC, CNE, CNOR, NEA-BC, clinical associate professor and director of distance education at the University of Texas Arlington's College of Nursing, has been honored by the Association of Operating Room Nurses for Outstanding Achievement in Perioperative Academic Nursing Education.

The American Nurses Association (ANA) Board of Directors has appointed Michael L. Evans, PhD, RN, NEA-BC, FAAN, dean and chief executive officer of the Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College in St. Louis, as the next president of the American Nurses Credentialing Center. He will begin his two-year term on July 1, 2011, succeeding current president Debbie Dawson Hatmaker, PhD, RN-BC, SANE-A.

Terrah L. Foster, PhD, RN, CPNP, assistant professor at the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing in Nashville, Tennessee, is the recipient of the 2011 Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association New Investigator Award.

William Lauder, PhD, RN, professor of nursing and head of the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health at the University of Stirling, Scotland, has been appointed editor-in-chief of Nurse Education Today. …
