I was very pleased that a booklet has finally been published on the subject of schizophrenia. Since my illness began 14 years ago I have searched for ways of informing myself about the illness and it was difficult to find literature on the subject in Hebrew. As I had access to the university library I read literature on schizophrenia in English, but most of the material was research and not basic information. Nevertheless, it was helpful and I managed to educate myself about the illness. In addition, I asked the doctors who treated me, and those who continue to treat me, about the illness, the medications, how they are meant to help, what are the side-effects likely to occur, and also about rehabilitation.

Despite receiving information, I thirsted for organized material in Hebrew about the various aspects of the subject, and now, after waiting for 14 years, at last such a booklet has been published. I must admit that I read it in one sitting (so thirsty was I for information) and finished reading it the day I received it. The booklet organized the various aspects of the illness of schizophrenia for me, and clarified them for me in language that was simple, clear and pleasing. The professional terms and concepts are all explained so that anyone who does not know them will be able to understand. …
