Nineteen former students of the late Gosta W. Ahlstrom have contributed to this Festschrift. The volume includes a series of tributes to Professor Ahlstrom by colleagues and former students (pp. 21-38), a bibliography of his writings since the publication of his first Festschrift in 1984 (In the Shelter of Elyon: Essays on Ancient Palestinian Life and Literature in Honor of G. W. Ahlstrom [JSOTSup 31; Sheffield: JSOT Press, 1984] 31-42), and a list of dissertations he directed at the University of Chicago. An index of biblical and other ancient literatures, a subject index, and an index of modern authors conclude the volume.
