This collection consists of sixteen essays by seventeen authors that originally were papers read at the II Peshitta Symposium held at Leiden during August 19-21, 1993. The volume also contains an appendix by P. B. Dirksen, "Supplement to An Annotated Bibliography of the Peshitta of the Old Testament,1989" (pp. 221-36), and two indices: scriptural references and modern authors.
