Apr. 25: Jordanian authorities arrested five members of the banned Islamic Liberation Party. The party had been organizing a statewide campaign to pressure the government to send fighters to help the Palestinians. [AN, 4/25]

May 16: Jordan's first woman Member of Parliament (MP), Toujan Faysal, was sentenced to 18 months in jail for accusing the government of corruption. The ex-parliamentarian was charged with publishing "lies that hurt the state's integrity and honor." [BBC, AN, 5/16]

May 25: Jordan started implementing the Arab private investment agreement that encourages and protects investments and capital transfer. Jordan was the third Arab state, after Egypt and Iraq to begin this process. [AN, 5/25]

June 29: Jordan's Prime Minister `Ali Abu al-Raghib, warned vocational trade unions not to prioritize political activism and concentrate on trade union activity. This statement was a result of the trade union festival that was to encourage the boycott of American goods in protest of the American bias to Israel. [AN, 6/29]

July 1: Jordan's real estate department banned selling lands to persons who carry the Israeli identity. …
