The third book in this ongoing series (the first two were dedicated to 'Dante and Europe' and 'The cosmology of Dante') invites the reader to look through the eyes and poetry of Dante at Nature defined, by Anna Maria Chiavacci Leonardi in the introduction, as 'the order of creation'. Patrick Boyde's essay exemplifies the methodological approach to Dante as poet-philosopher familiar to readers of his magisterial trilogy Dante Philomythes and Philosopher. A synoptic presentation, illustrated with three diagrams, of Dante's understanding of Nature (and the hierarchy of created beings) yields its specifically poetic dividend in an appreciation of Paradiso I. Sergio Cristaldi's essay considers Nature as the book of God. …
