Framework 52 is a comprehensive two- issue set. Issue 1 covers Peter Whitehead's work through the 1960s. Issue 2 covers Peter Whitehead's work from the early 1970s to the present. Dossiers include archives of his own material and critiques by contemporary authors, with a focus on his films Daddy, Fire in the Water, and Terrorism Considered as One of the Fine Arts, as well as film treatments of unrealized projects. But this issue has a great emphasis on Whitehead's life beyond cinema, covering some of his most beloved work- as a publisher, falconer, novelist, and potter.

Paul Cronin's current projects include a historical documentary about the student protests at Columbia University in 1968 and a book about Haskell Wexler's 1969 film Medium Cool. He edited Herzog on Herzog and Alexander Mackendrick's On Film- Making: An Introduction to the Craft of the Director.

James Riley is Ju nior Research Fellow in En glish at Wolfson College, Cambridge. He is also curator of the Nohzone Archive, which holds all of the primary texts and documents pertaining to Peter Whitehead's life and work. …
