In my first column as the new Editor-in-Chief of Partnership, I want to take the opportunity to pay tribute to the journal's Founding Editor, Jennifer Richard. Jennifer presided over the establishment and development of the journal during its first five years of existence, publishing nine issues. Over the past five months since my appointment as Jen's successor, I have come to realize what a considerable accomplishment that is. Many journals fail before they reach their fifth anniversary. The fact that Partnership has continued to grow, and expand its readership, is testimony not only to the fact that it fulfills an important need but also to the energy and dedication that Jennifer and her associates have brought to their editorial responsibilities.

Volume 6, no. 1 of Partnership marks the debut of several new Section Editors on the Partnership staff: Mary Kandiuk (Innovations in Practice), Jennifer Easter (Conference Spotlight), Barbara Kelly (Professional Development) and Cheryl Caballero (Viewpoints) have all contributed significantly to this issue. They join Partnership veterans: Ann Smith, Michael Hohner, Christine Neilson, Leeanne Morrow, Catherine Jeanjean and Rainer Schira to make up the full editorial team.

With this issue we also say goodbye and thank-you to Mary Landry, who has served as Partnership's French Language Editor for the past two years but informed me in March of her desire to step down. As a journal with a national scope, Partnership continues to welcome manuscripts in both official languages, although to date only three articles and one review have been published in French. …
