With the 2002 edition of Natural Gas & Electric Power Industries Analysis, Editor Robert Willett continues an annual tradition begun with The Natural Gas Yearbook. The volume is designed to capture the year's events in the energy industry, adding coverage of the electric industry to a mix that previously extended to the natural gas industry alone. As in previous years, the book compiles articles similar in content and scope to those one would expect to find in such periodicals as The Natural Gas Journal, The Electricity Journal, Public Utilities Fortnightly and other energy industry publications.

For energy industry attorneys and policy-oriented professionals, a good part of the value of Willett's compilation may lie in those articles analyzing industry data and trends which may serve as a useful building block in understanding and influencing energy policy. Opening chapters cover such topics as NAESB's evolution, electric transmission investment trends, gas price projections and the value of natural gas storage in today's market. Similarly useful surveys cover the state of the market for emissions trading, distributed generation and wind power.
