Two common goals of committees entrusted with hymnal revision throughout the worldwide Church have been enrichment so that the contents of the new collections enhance worship and sensitivity to the musical tradition of the communities for whom the book is intended. In this instance both these goals and others were the prime objectives of the Commission on Liturgy and Music of the Synod of the Anglican Church in the Province of the West Indies, the Rt. Rev. Alfred C. Reid, D.D., Chairman, and Karl Fuller, Project Coordinator. The collection contains no musical settings of texts intended for singing in the Book of Common Prayer.

Among these are authors Elizabeth Cosnett, Carl Daw, Timothy Dudley-Smith, Fred Pratt Green, Christopher Idle, Fred Kaan, Shirley Erena Murray, James Quinn, Michael Saward, George Timms, and composers Horace Boyer, Peter Cutts, Alfred Fedak, David Hurd, I-to-Loh, Richard Proulx, Erik Routley, Cyril Taylor, and Alan Wicks. …
