2012 International Achievement Award

Each year The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International recognizes one member for distinguished service to the Society. From recommendations submitted by members, chapters, or state organizations, the International Executive Board selects a member for this honor. The symbol of this honor is a gold medallion presented to the recipient. The first medallion for the International Achievement Award was given in 1933 to Dr. Annie Webb Blanton; the most recent award was presented at the DKG International Convention in New York City, New York.

Alice Carrier, 2010-2012 international first vice president, is the 80th recipient of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International Achievement Award, presented at the 2012 Celebration Luncheon. Carrier has served the international Society as Northeast Regional Director, International Second Vice President, Conference Steering Committee Chair for the 2009 Northeast Regional Conference, and chair and/or member of the Constitution, Leadership Development, Golden Gift, International Speakers Fund, Cornetet Bequest ad hoc, and Electronic Elections ad hoc committees. As an international officer, she served as Society Representative in 19 states and countries.

While serving on the Cornetet Bequest Committee, Carrier helped develop the Educator Edge Web site and then guided its evolution into the Educational Foundations current Web site. …
