On Tuesday, November 6, President Barack Obama defeated Republican Mitt Romney, winning a second term as the president of the United States. Obama won 332 electoral votes to Romney's 206 and, in the process, became the first Democratic president since Franklin D. Roosevelt to win at least 50 percent of the popular vote in back to back elections.

Obama was greatly aided in his reelection quest by labor unions, especially in the allimportant state of Ohio. Union members came out in force in both Ohio and Michigan.

The White House has nominated Keith Kelly, for Assistant Secretary for Veterans' Employment and Training, Department of Labor. Kelly is the Commissioner of the Montana Department of Labor and Industry (DLI), a position he has held since January 2005. Kelly previously worked at DLI as the Administrator for the Unemployment Insurance Division from 2002 to 2004. …
