I have just read the recent publication of the American Annals of the Deaf (vol. 147, no. 1, 2002). The article "Residential Psychiatric Treatment of Emotionally Disturbed Deaf Youth" includes what is said to be an exhaustive list of all residential treatment programs for deaf and hard of hearing children. Our program was not included on the list, so I wanted to let you know about us.

We are Cathedral Home for Children, a nonprofit residential therapeutic/psychiatric treatment program for troubled and traumatized children. We are located on a 600+ acre campus in Laramie, WY. Our program for deaf and hard of hearing children includes a year-round accredited school, which (once construction is finished on a new wing of our school this December) will provide three additional classrooms specifically designed for this population of children. The classrooms will provide a cutting-edge approach to deaf education and a classroom environment that allows for optimal learning.
