This is the first issue of vol. LXI, 2013 comprising three research papers, an edited English translation of Kewal Räm's Tadhkirat al-Umarä', a review article, index of vol. LX (2012) and an obituary.

Dr. Ananda Bhattacharyya (India) has discussed in detail the well known Siyar al-Muta'khkherm, its various versions and the historical importance in his article entitled "Studying the Authenticity of Writing of Siyar al-Muta'khkherïn: Ghuläm Hussein and his Magnum Opus".

Alexander has always been a popular subject of study for historians. His invasion of Pakistan areas especially his military operations in Swat has been analysed by Dr. SuItan-i-Rome (Pakistan) in his article: "Alexander the Great and Swat".

From India Aasia Yusuf has highlighted the contribution of late Ms. Maryam Jameelah to the study of Islam. Ms. Aasia Yusuf has shown how much she was opposed to all the forms of modernists' reforms in Islam, particularly of Sir Sayyid, Sayyid Ameer Ali and Sheikh Muhammad 'Abduh in her article "Maryam Jameelah's Traditional/Conservative Approach to Modernity". …
