Advance Notice of the Seventh Triennial Conference of the International John Bunyan Society, 'John Bunyan: Conscience, History and Justice', to Be Held at Princeton University, 12-16 August 2013

As President of the International John Bunyan Society, it gives me great pleasure to invite readers of Bunyan Studies to what will be our seventh triennial conference at Princeton University. The conference is taking distinct shape: a second notice has been sent out with more details of the programme, accommodation and conference activities, in addition to a call for papers. Full conference registration details will be available in December 2012 and registration will begin then.

The plenary speakers will include N. H. Keeble (Stirling), Laura Knoppers (Perm. State), Paul C. H. Lim (Vanderbilt) and Cynthia Wall (Virginia). We have already had panel session topics proposed on: the Bunyan Church Book; editing Bunyan and other texts in Dissenting tradition; Bunyan's writings in Colonial America; Bunyan and the book trade in the context of religious persecution; and William Hale White ('Mark Rutherford'), marking the one hundredth anniversary of his death. We also intend to give a platform to discussion of the relevance of Bunyan's writings at this particular moment in global history.
