Dear Member

A few weeks ago I had the great pleasure of seeing the Olympic torch in my local town centre. I was amazed that so many people turned out just to see a glimpse of the flame as the torchbearers raced on to the next checkpoint.The stories of all those involved were just remarkable.

Over the last few months it feels like we have been carrying out our own IAM torch relay as we travelled the length and breadth of the UK running our summer regional events. Starting with our event in Preston back in February, it has been a great pleasure to meet a number of you at these occasions and finding out how we can build the membership offer to meet your needs and personal aspirations. Events are all supported by a small team of voluntary regional representatives - our ambassadors in your area. I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their hard work in making our events so successful. Many of them are new, so if you have not had the chance to meet them, or a member of my team, then it would be great to see you at an event very soon.

I particularly want to mention Emma Hicks, our London representative until July 2012, who is now stepping down from her role due to a new career move. …
