"The management is pleased to announce that as a result of certain elections to the Universal Congress of Transmogrification . . ." specific long predicted things will happen "exactly at midnight." The "management" further advises that "No matter what the time-belt of your home province, . . . every instant of time shall be that true and enduring midnight. . . . this eternal heaven in which we dream of hell." The word "transmogrification" is defined as "strange or grotesque transformation." It is indeed strange to realize that stroke of midnight that will bring "revelations . . . visions . . . charismatic hors-d'heuvres . . . mana . . . divine grace" is this very instant -every instant the opportunity to realize heaven present within us. The poet instructs us to "Look at the clock . . . It is three seconds until that ultimate midnight . …
