The Pepperdine Public Policy Review is excited to present you with the sixth volume of our academic journal. This year we had an array of excellent submissions which made choosing a representative selection of the analytical and policy application skills of the students quite difficult. Yet, I am pleased to offer you a wide variety of scholarly articles covering many current topics in the present policy arena both domestically and internationally.

This volume focused specifically on presenting articles which addressed a current policy issue and provided real time recommendations to mitigate the concerns raised. For example, included are articles which address the current global warming concerns and new resource seeking techniques such as hydraulic fracturing. Questions are raised and addressed concerning the Affordable Care Act and a free market, and the current U.S. relations with North Korea. The Review even highlights some international policy concerns such as the impact of clean water on child mortality in Senegal, and the economic impact of infrastructure development in former Soviet Union countries. …
