New Journeys for 2013

Article excerpt

Welcome to a New Year and new opportunities for enhanced creativity and realization of our goals for ourselves and for family & consumer sciences.

This issue has some distinct characteristics! Our call for manuscripts on the theme of Educational Quality: The Needs for the Future has resulted in a richness of submissions so much so that we have dedicated the first two issues of Volume 105 to this theme instead of just one.

Quality Education is indeed important to us and to our society. Recent political dialogue identified education as a top priority for funding in the United States and the world. Listen to any news broadcast and we hear the economy discussed in every region and country of the world. The role of education in economic development and the need to invest in education for long-term development is almost always a part of that news story. So it is no surprise that educational quality is a hot topic for family & consumer sciences. We hope you enjoy the diversity of the manuscripts addressing this topic in issues 105,1 and 105,2.
