Students Have Much in Store for 2013!

The year is winding down and AAFCS Student Unit (SU) members across the nation are preparing for winter break. In anticipation of a new year and a new semester, the national SU officers have already brainstormed and put in place a number of different projects for next semester as we look toward the AAFCS 104th Annual Conference & Expo in Houston, June 26-29. Here are some of the projects we will be working on throughout next semester.

Service Projects

The SU has decided to lead two service projects. We are happy to announce that the first project will be a partnership with Share our Strength's No Kid Hungry® Campaign. For every $25 individual gift donated to the AAFCS Annual Fund, $1 will be donated to the Share Our Strength Campaign. Donations to the annual fund can be made at http://www.aafcs.org/donate.

Traditionally, the SU has led a service project that supports the host city of the annual conference. At this time, the final decision on what project will have the most impact has not been made. Stay tuned.

Membership Campaign

A major goal this year is to establish a greater connection with other family and consumer sciences students across the nation. The national officers have continued to reach out via the Facebook page as well as the new Twitter page @AAFCS_SU. Important updates and informational videos will be posted throughout the semester. …
