NADE News: Opening Channels of Communication

As NADE president, I am always looking for ways to improve developmental education programs for students. I spend hours every week sifting through research, examining resources, and putting together proposals on how positive changes could be made in our field. I welcome critiques and suggestions on how ideas can be improved, and would like for all of us to help each other. One way to do this is by opening up more channels of communications. NADE's website now offers an opportunity for members to connect at our new blog: http://www.nadedeved.blogspot.com/ You do not have to be a NADE member to post to the blog and participate in the conversation.

The site allows us to share ideas on developmental education issues, resources, and research. To access it, simply click on one of the tabs at the top of the NADE Blog and scroll down to post a comment. It's a lot like Facebook. After typing in your question or response, go to "comment as" and select a way to identify yourself. You may also post anonymously if you wish. After you write your comment, you can preview it. The last step is to hit the "publish" button.

Currently a number of issues are up for discussion, including restructuring and even the elimination of developmental education programs across the country. …
