On a slightly different but related tangent, we use this issue to announce a change in editorial policy for those who wish to submit their work for peer review and possible publication in JCFS. It has long been the policy of this Journal to supply the readers and academic community with the best research on families from across the world at the most reasonable cost we can manage. During the recent recession the Journal has experienced some declines in support from academic institutions and individuals. Rather than raise our subscription prices, we have decided to begin to ask potential contributors to help us defray the costs associated with one of our most time consuming and expensive endeavors related to the publication of a peer reviewed journal, the manuscript review and processing. …
