Global View on Water Safety & Introduction to Water Safety Plans

Chaired by Dr Susanne Lee, Director of Leegionella Ltd, and rSPH Fellow, this 1 hour free webinar will feature a presentation from Professor Jamie Bartram, Director of the Water institute at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and will provide an up- to-date global picture of water safety. This will include the World Health Organization (WHO) Water Safety Plan, its origins and use in non-household settings; who is at risk; health-based targets in different settings; the Water Safety Team composition and remit; and setting water safety policies. This is the first in a new series of 11 webinars on water safety from the rSPH, which are sponsored by an educational grant from Pall Medical, and will be running on a monthly basis throughout 2014 (excluding august).

Perinatal Mental Health - A Priority for Public Health

It is now known that perinatal mental illness can have significant long-term public health and societal consequences when it goes undiagnosed and without intervention. This conference will con- sider the effects of perinatal mental illness antenatally and postna- tally on the infant, the mother, the father and on society and how these can be reduced. it will also share some important new national developments in the field which have been designed to reduce its impact.
