This is the first of a three-volume study by Maria Sofia Corradini Bozzi and represents the culmination of years of close analysis of the texts edited. This volume has an edition of the relevant texts of three MSS, Princeton, Garrett 8o, Auch, Archives du Dep. du Gets I 4o66, and Chantilly, Musee Conde 3 3o. The second, as one ascertains in one footnote, will contain editions of the texts in Cambridge, Trinity College 903, and Basel, Bibl. de l'Universite DII ii. The third, mentioned in a different footnote, will contain what will be, hopefully, a complete lexicon.

Here, Corradini first analyses the textual and thematic convergences in the three MSS and then undertakes a solid linguistic analysis of the language of each, followed by some remarks on the possible history of the three. Editorial principles are set out, followed by a bibliography and a map.

The texts are edited scrupulously and Corradini inclines towards the use of different forms of bracketing to indicate superfluous elements and lacunae, a perfectly valid procedure in this type of text. Footnotes discuss points of interest and make extensive use of other traditions of the same texts to clarify and confirm readings. …
