Jan. 16: During Friday prayers at Tehran University, Ayatollah `Ali Khamene'i ruled out any dialogue with the US government but praised President Muhammad Khatami for his overture to the American people during his televised interview with the Cable News Network (CNN) on 7 January. [1/17 NYT]
