Greetings for the New Year 2014/1435-36.

For more than half a century Pakistan Historical Society has been making endeavours to nurture unbiased, objective, scientific historical studies, an objective which was felt mandatory by the founding fathers. This approach was evident in its publication of monographs and other research based books and also as the focus of more than 20 history conferences (latest 24th going to be held in April 2014). But more so it was developed and propagated successfully through the quarterly research journal The Journal of the Pakistan Historical Society (The Historicus).

The Historicus (62nd vol.) with the other research journal of the Hamdard Foundation Pakistan, the Hamdard Islamicus (37th vol.), both internationally recognized, have covered different facets of history in general and history of the Muslim people and of South Asia in particular.

The Historicus has been able to represent all the three states of South Asia and other areas as well. We, as the second generation of Pakistani historians have also remained committed to further advance the cause of historical disciplines.

This issue comprises three articles, serialization of the English translation of the Kewalräm's Tadhkirat al-Umarä \ current history and an index of the previous volume. …
