This issue of The Seventeenth Century inaugurates the latest important development in the journal's continuing expansion. The Seventeenth Century is already firmly established as the world's leading journal in its field of interdisciplinary seventeenth-century studies. Last year (volume 27, 2012) the frequency of publication was doubled, from two to four issues a year, and high-quality colour plates were reintroduced. Now, from volume 28, 2013, The Seventeenth Century has joined Routledge Journals, part of the Taylor and Francis Group.

Major new features will be introduced this year, including greatly improved electronic access for subscribers, the possibility of online submission of articles and reviews through the journal's website, and, most notably, the digitisation of the complete archive, which constitutes a unique repertory of innovative and exceptionally wide-ranging scholarship. …
