With Profound Gratitude to David Pellauer

With this issue of Philosophy Today, the journal reluctantly and with great appreciation bids farewell to David Pellauer, who is stepping down as Editor after twenty-seven years at the helm. David took over the editorship of Philosophy Today in 1986, the same year he joined the Philosophy Department at DePaul University. Over the past nearly three decades, David has published the work of some of the most important thinkers in contemporary philosophy, including Paul Ricoeur, Alain Badiou, Luce Irigaray, Jacques Derrida, Emmanuel Levinas, Karl-Otto Apel, Jean-Luc Marion, and Enrique Dussel. He has also been an unfailing supporter of young scholars, committed to publishing their work in the journal's pages. Many of today's well-known scholars can boast of having their first article published in Philosophy Today. When the Society for Phenomenology and Existential Philosophy (SPEP) decided to publish the proceedings of its annual meeting in journal rather than book form, it turned to David and Philosophy Today. …
