This spooky poetry book will delight goblins, ghosts, and ghouls throughout the year, especially around Halloween. The book opens with a hefty green monster with hairy eyebrows, sharp teeth, and wet drool. Inside the monster's cavernous mouth is the title, along with poet and illustrator information. On Hallow's eve, children can learn:

The wind is howling;

the leaves are blowing.

A sliver of moon

is barely showing. . . .

The digitally created illustrations use a colorful pallet against mostly black and gray backgrounds. Some of the poems are humorous, such as "Slick Ride":

Witches on broomsticks

fly over treetops.

Except when it rains,

then they use mops!
