This sixth volume from the Texts & Transitions series examines the assembly, illumination, and patronage of the Vernon Manuscript (Oxford, Bodleian Library, MS Eng. poeta. 1). The manuscript, which was produced around 1390-1400, is of insurmountable importance for the number of texts and miniatures it contains (370 texts; 16 miniatures), and as the largest surviving Middle English manuscript at 350 folios is arguably the greatest medieval anthology.
