Marshal the alphabet and command language

with mad handles more magic than voodoo.

Kill cats all day on loose leaf. Let

your sentences speed up and slow down.

Follow instinct. Loop back and lope along.

Connect what came before with what's

to come. Entertain, dazzle, bewilder, bolt

forward, crossover, and come back. Don't

be boring. Let your words twist and turn,

churn with meaning, pivot, spin, burn

the defender, break ankles all day long,

drive toward the hoop, but stop and return

to dawdle and dance at the three point line,

pump fake, and punctuate it all with the ever

so elegant elegance of a fade away jumper.

Learn the mechanics of the layup

and the bounce pass, but don't be afraid

to deconstruct your game and go in a different
