Dreams Doctors Instead of Sedation in Radionuclide Scanning among Young Children Aged 1 Month till 5 Years. a Study of 142 Patients

The Dream Doctors (DD) have expanded their activities to include pediatric wards. We introduced DD instead of sedation in children performing kidney imaging after urinary infection (UTI). The procedure require that the patient does not move under the isotope camera, but this is extremely difficult in the pediatric population and in the past sedation was required in order to get good imaging results. Sedation require medical observation and it takes hours until the child can be released.

Methods: We introduced DD in order to avoid sedation to those young children. Each study was subsequently scored by the radionuclide physician in order to get quality data from the studies.
