In 2013 the Journal of Aesthetics and Culture is facing its fifth volume and fifth year of open access presence. As the former Editor-in-chief, Astrid Söderbergh Widding, has been appointed Vice-Chancellor of Stockholm University we have changed the structure of the editorship at the journal. Of the editorial team of six, two editors will biannually act as Editor-in-chief and Deputy-editor-in-chief respectively. For the next two years these will be John Sundholm and Bodil Marie Stavning Thomsen from Karlstad and Aarhus University.

The widening of the editorship last year and the decision to share the work as Editor-in-chief on two also reflects the increasing interest in the Journal of Aesthetics and Culture and the growing number of submitted manuscripts. It is obvious that Open Access-publishing has become an established option and that scholars have appreciated the benefits: the accessibility, the multi-modality and the rapidity. …
