In the ancient Greek torch race, a lighted torch was passed from one runner to another. I want you to imagine me running my heart out, holding a lit torch, and passing it along to Sandra Kopels and Brenda Lindsey, of the University of Illinois School Of Social Work. In my imagination, we are all running along smoothly and fleetly, all on the school social work course. What is the endpoint of this race? I hope there is no finish line.

The metaphorical finish line would be the end of School Social Work Journal. Instead, it will continue on, as it has for the past 3 8 years. The journal will be in good hands. Sandra Kopels, attorney and social worker, is a full professor at the University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign. She has served as managing editor for a number of years, and makes major contributions to the field of school social work through her work with the Illinois Association of School Social Workers, her scholarship, her presentations, and her teaching. …
