Fall is a busy time for all, with school starting, weather changing, holidays approaching, and pressing deadlines. The constant, blinding pace can begin to wear one down and dampen spirits. Life gets in the way in a hurry if you are not careful, and focus gets shifted away from what is more important. What is more important, you ask? In most cases, family. Family brings us together and helps one who feels like a half to feel whole again.

Beyond being important, family also makes us happy. Family makes me happy, but I also enjoy pieces of life that make it so much more special. Such are the little, creative things that bring us together, keep us busy, or inspire us. Creating something is the root of what it means to be human, whether writing, crafting, art, storytelling, poetry, music, dancing or cooking. …
