The Battle of Samoa Revisited

In this long review of Paul Shankman's new study, The Trashing of Margaret Mead: Anatomy of an Anthropological Controversy, the author is forced to revisit the source of this brouhaha, which is found in Derek Freeman's accusatory studies, Margaret Mead and Samoa and The Fateful Hoaxing of Margaret Mead. Freeman has always appeared to be off the mark and Shankman confirms this.
