Winners of the 2014 Excellence in Field Scholarship Prize Announced

The Simmons School of Social Work and the Field Educator sponsor an annual award to promote excellence in field education scholarship. A $1,000 prize is awarded for an outstanding paper on social work field education. We are pleased to announce this year's winners are Paul P. Freddolino, Sheryl Groden, Julie Navarre, Jo Ann McFall, Amanda T. Woodward, and Alison Jahr from Michigan State University School of Social Work.

Their paper "Using Field Evaluation Date for Continuous Quality Improvement: A Policy Competency Example" is published in this Fall 2014 edition of Field Educator. The winners will be honored at the 2014 Annual Program Meeting of the Council on Social Work Education in Tampa, FL on Friday, 10/24 at 6:30-8pm in the Tampa Convention Center Room 11.

The prize committee selected the article because the research represents a comprehensive approach to examining an issue of important relevance to social work field education: how to effectively use field education assessment data to improve student learning outcomes. …
