The World Happiness Report, which has been published since 2012, demonstrates that happiness and wellbeing are key factors in a nation's social and economic development.

Looking at levels of happiness in 158 countries, the report ranked the following five countries as the happiest: Switzerland, Iceland, Denmark, Norway and Canada. Looking deeper into data trends than the original report, the 2015 World Happiness Report also looks into country trends, gender and age factors and the importance of investing in social capital. Produced by the Sustainable Development Solutions Network, the report contains analysis from experts across many fields and demonstrates how measures of happiness and wellbeing can be important in determining national social and economic progress.

This report comes at an important time when countries will be working towards achieving the new Sustainable Development Goals, with an aim of moving towards a more sustainable development agenda with wellbeing as a critical element of this. …
