We've all heard the adage, drowning in data and starved for information. In this issue of the Journal, we explore the many facets of the symbiotic data/information relationship - from analysis and reporting to implementation and regulation. Be assured, AGA is committed to providing our members the best and most up-to-date information available. I encourage you to read CEO Ann Ebberts' view on the implementation of the Digital and Transparency Act of 2014 (DATA Act) and how we play a critical role in its success (see page 8).

Speaking of success, the Journal owes its success to many! I owe ongoing gratitude to the Journal Editorial Board members (see full list at right) who generously contribute theirtime and subject matter expertise. Thank you, all, for your dedication and hard work! This summer, we bid a fond farewell to William Albrecht and Drummond Kahn, whose terms expire; and we welcome Peggy Javery and Mia Leswing who have volunteered to help in continuing to produce a high-quality publication.

I'd also like to extend a warm welcome to AGA's incoming president, John E. Homan, MBA, CGFM, CPA, CGMA. In 'Final Entry' (see page 62), John shares his plans to address critical gaps in government accounting education - an important theme we'll also focus on in the upcoming Workforce and Talent shortage issue of the Journal. He also explains the evolution of his presidential theme, "Celebrating the Government Workforce" and the importance of such well-deserved recognition. …
