Iwould like to begin with a correction. In the editorial that accompanied the previous edition (23[2]), the third paragraph began with, "Of the 4 million nurses in the United States . . . ." A number and a decimal point were missing and this should have read "Of the 3.4 million nurses in the United States . . . ." I apologize for this error.

This being the end of another journal year and my third year as editor makes it a good time to reflect on the status of the journal. In my first editorial, I posed two questions to readers: Should the journal description change? Should the journal accept other types of manuscripts in addition to original research studies or review articles? I am still eager to hear the ideas of those in research, practice, and education about how the Journal of Nursing Measurement (JNM) should change to better meet your needs.
